The Senior Manager, Accounting primarily supports the accounting and statutory compliance of Global Payments Process Centre, Inc. (GSC/Global Service Center). The incumbent is responsible for a range of accounting activities performed in the GSC, which include Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets, General Ledger, and Statutory Compliance and Reporting. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Posts general ledger journal entries after review of supporting documents and calculations. Subsequently reviews the general ledger to ensure accuracy of posting. Monitors that all deadlines are met to ensure a smooth flow in support of US consolidation timeline.
  • Prepares monthly Profit and Loss and Balance Sheet analysis for entities handled. Leads the monthly round table meetings to discuss variances and other important accounting matters.
  • Reviews monthly Balance Sheet reconciliation as an important control to ensure validity of assets and liabilities.
  • Effectively utilizes Oracle in support of accounting and reporting needs.
  • Represents the accounting department in management coordination and strategy meetings, as well as in external meetings.
  • Establishes and maintains a system of policies and procedures which will produce timely and accurate financial data.
  • Designs and implements a system of internal controls over accounting processes to ensure the reliability of the financial statements.
  • Supports management initiatives and decisions by providing financial analyses, being part of project committees, and/or actively seeking cost-saving measures.
  • Prepares and monitors the budget for the accounting department.
  • Works with external auditors during year-end financial statement audit. Prepares/reviews the annual financial statements.
  • Works with tax consultants during quarterly and annual income tax computations.
  • Ensures statutory compliance which includes filing of tax returns and timely payment. Reviews reports submitted to regulatory agencies from time to time.
  • Trains staff on accounting and business policies and recommended procedures to ensure uniformity and accuracy of output.
  • Works with direct reports to establish performance goals for each year; initiates regular talks and coaching to enhance the professional development of staff.
  • Keeps self updated with developments in business, local and international accounting, and taxation.
  • Upholds corporate values and company policies.

COMPETENCIES
o Financial statements preparation and management reporting.
o Experienced in Philippine tax and statutory compliance with regulatory agencies such as BIR, PEZA, SEC.
o Understanding Philippine and International Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS/IFRS).
o Experienced in using a range of cloud financial systems and tools (e.g., Oracle, Ariba, Certify)

o Possesses leadership track record in leading engaged team members through business-as-usual responsibilities and projects.
o Communicating with international colleagues because of exposure to mult national setting.

QUALIFICATIONS
o Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from a reputable college or university; with very good scholastic records
o Certified Public Accountant license is required
o At least 3 years’ experienced Accounting Manager with previous work experience focused in accounting and audit
o Preferred: Master’s Degree; exposure to multinational company/shared service operations
