Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled and proactive Cloud Systems Administrator to join our IT team. This role is responsible for managing and optimizing our cloud-based infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security, and performance. The role is also responsible for managing the procurement and provisioning of our computer hardware and IT peripherals . You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support our organization’s digital transformation efforts.
Main Responsibilities- Deploy, configure, and manage virtual machines, storage accounts, and Azure services.
- Monitor resource utilization, troubleshoot issues, and optimize performance.
- Implement security best practices and compliance policies.
- Manage and optimise system cost.
- Office 365
Administration
- Manage user accounts, licenses, and permissions within Office 365.
- Configure Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and OneDrive for Business.
- Collaborate with end-users to ensure seamless adoption of Office 365 services.
- Management of laptops and IT peripherals
- Procurement of computer hardware
- Provisioning of laptops and IT peripherals to business users
- Troubleshooting and provide support to business via our remote service desk
- Identity and Access
Management (IAM)
- Set up and manage user accounts, roles, and permissions in Windows.
- Implement single sign-on (SSO) solutions.
- Security and Compliance
- Implement security best practices for cloud resources.
- Monitor and respond to security incidents.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA)
- Backup and Disaster Recovery
- Configure automated backups and recovery processes.
- Test and validate disaster recovery plans
- Networking and Connectivity
- Set up virtual networks, subnets, and firewalls.
- Establish VPN connections and manage network security groups.
- Collaboration with DevOps Teams
- Work closely with DevOps engineers to deploy applications and services.
- Support continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Monitoring
and Troubleshooting
- Monitor cloud resources using tools like Azure Monitor or CloudWatch.
- Troubleshoot performance issues and optimize resource utilization.
- Documentation and Knowledge Sharing
- Maintain clear and up-to-date documentation for cloud configurations.
- Share knowledge with team members and contribute to internal training.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Certifications in cloud platforms (e.g., Azure Administrator, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator) will be an advantage
- Experience with cloud services, virtualization, and networking
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Strong work ethic and high attention to details is a must
- Comfortable working as part of a scrum team and believes the quality of the product is a team responsibility
